What Kay did was make handloom weaving dramatically faster, and easier. He called his invention the Flying Shuttle. This is said to be one of the most important inventions in textile history, and also said to jumpstart the industrial revolution more than any other of the inventions of its time did. Before this invention, handloom weaving was based on a shuttle having yarn being slowly and difficulty moved from one hand to the other hand. He patented his invention in 1733. How he made it was he placed shuttle boxes on both sides of the loom and connected them with a long board. This is better known has a shuttle race. Music-related terminology fills the poem, which Stevens composes like a piece of music, with four movements and varying rhythms that echo one another. The rhythms and terminology Stevens employs dually reflect the subjects he writes about, a dynamic that embodies the link between music and emotion in the poem. The language of music develops silent emotions; when hearts quietly jump or stomachs secretly turn, â€Å"a cymbal crashe[s], / and roaring horns.† In this overly-theatrical development of clandestine, unperformed emotions, the poem fashions its unique mixture of mocking and irony with regards to its subjects. â€Å"Education is a companion which no misfortune can depress, no crime can destroy, no enemy can alienate, and no despotism can enslave†, a famous quotation from the writer, Joseph Addison. In Filipino sayings, it would be described as something that can never be stolen from you. The K12 system of education is popularly used in the United States, Australia and Canada, it was recently initiated by the Aquino administration to be adapted in the Philippines. Since it denotes prolonging the education of students by two years, would it really be beneficial or unhelpful to a Filipino student? We all know that life is hard and public or private education is costly for parents. However looking past the financial aspects of a student’s education, the K12 system proves to be very beneficial. Unemployment and poverty are two cancers of society and are both problems rooted from Filipinos unable to finish school. The K12 program aims to uplift the quality of education in the Philippines in order for graduates to be easily employed. The program also aims to meet the standards required for professionals who would want to work abroad. Furthermore, it would help the student acquire mastery of basic competencies and be more emotionally mature. According to G. K. Chesterton, â€Å"Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another. † Wouldn’t it make a brighter future for the Philippines if all schools will upgrade the level of teaching? Wouldn’t it make a better generation of Filipinos? Wouldn’t it make the Philippines better equipped to compete globally? Adapting to the education system of first world countries like the United States could definitely uplift the lives of the young Filipinos. After all, they are already living proof that their educational system made them a powerful country in the world. I believe that the K12 system will help the Filipino students attain a better level of learning, a better career to earn a living and a brighter Philippines.
